Easy Spaghetti Sauce (Red)

When it was Fr. Seraphim Rose's turn to cook, he made spaghetti with just tomato paste.  No spices. 

Empty a 12 oz. can of tomato paste into a 4 quart sauce pan, add 3 or 4 cans of water.  
Heat and stir.
To that add any or all of the following:

-can of tomatoes plum, crushed, diced, stewed, ...
-1 chopped onion
-3 garlic cloves or 3 tsp. garlic powder
-1 Tbls. dried basil
-1 tsp. dried oregano  (don't overdo)
-1 Tbls. sugar
-1 Tbls. paprika
-8 oz. mushrooms raw whole or sliced, or canned with juice
-chopped celery (1 large stalk)

Simmer 20 minutes or until veggies are done enough.  Then cover and let sit until time to serve.  Even better the next day after flavors marry.
