Thanksgiving Stuffing


8 oz. dried bread cubes (half a 1lb. 24 oz. loaf)
10 oz. chopped celery
1 med. onion (8 oz.) chopped
2½ oz. chopped walnuts (or 12 oz. canned mushroom pieces)
2½ Tbls. poultry seasoning (sage, thyme, rosemary 6:3:1)
¾ tsp. salt
several cranks of pepper mill
toss
add 1½ cup water (or tea, broth, unsweetened nut milk)
toss again immediately to coat bread cubes
transfer to crock pot
cook on high for 15-20 minutes
lower temperature to lowest setting
cook several hours, until done

In oven use lowest setting or 200° and cover tightly

with walnuts 1380 calories in recipe
(with mushrooms 975 calories)



• serve with cranberry sauce, creamed corn, roasted sweet potatoes
